“Inclusive Excellence and Our Teaching” Workshops
The Office of Teaching and Learning, in cooperation with many campus partners, will be offering an all-day workshop on "Inclusive Excellence and Our Teaching". This workshop will be offered twice (same content in each) on Monday, December 5 and Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
Topics will include addressing those unanticipated “teachable moments” that may occur during classroom discussions, working with international students, helping students work in small groups with a diverse range of classmates, and evaluating your syllabus from an IE perspective–just as a few examples. If you’ve ever said, “I know that inclusion and creating a welcoming learning environment are important, but HOW DO I DO THAT?” this workshop is for you.
Bonus: Marybeth Gasman (University of Pennsylvania) will be our keynote speaker on December 5! If you can only attend the full-day workshop on the 13th, you are still welcome to come to the keynote on the 5th.
Registration for December 13th is still open and filling up quickly! (December 13 registration link)
We look forward to seeing you there!
