Developing a Teaching Portfolio – Summer Workshops
Do you have some time to work on your teaching materials this summer? Want some ideas of how best to showcase your work? Join one of our hands-on workshops.
Developing a Teaching Portfolio
Teaching portfolios–a key element in many promotion files and academic job applications–can be time-consuming to assemble and their elements difficult to synthesize. This workshop–co-sponsored by the Writing Program and the OTL–will focus on helping faculty and graduate students to connect specific pieces of evidence with overall arguments about teaching. Attendees will think about how to collect, select, and reflect on the available evidence of their teaching and how to connect these processes to larger claims and narratives like portfolio introductions and teaching philosophies. Participants are encouraged to bring potential teaching portfolio materials with them to this hands-on session.
Offered on two different dates this summer. Both located in the OTL Conference Room (AAC 345).
