The Office of Teaching and Learning is a focal point for faculty and program-driven design and development of creative technology projects that enhance student learning in alignment with the DU IMPACT 2025 strategic plan.

OTL staff are recognized experts in their fields and are happy to consult with you about integrating such technology projects into your teaching.


Web Application Development


The OTL has developed a number of widely-used applications that support teaching and learning at DU. Examples include DU Portfolio, DU CourseMedia, DU Assessment, and more! Inquire with your custom app concepts.

Multimedia Content Creation


OTL staff can help design and develop interactive multimedia objects for instructional use, such as case scenarios, simulations, games, data visualizations, and animated presentations.

Canvas Integration and Reporting


We have experience building applications and services which implement the LTI standard to allow rich integration with the Canvas LMS.
We can also provide additional Canvas reporting and stats via the Canvas API and even using Canvas Data alongside visualization software.

Video and Audio Production


We have staff who specialize in recording and producing video and audio content for courses, as well as in support of educational programs.

Graphic and Print Design


OTL can design and produce graphics for both web and print use in support of courses and other educational endeavors.

Technology Consultations


We support technology choices and integration through individual consultations and hands-on workshops led by professional instructors.

Instruction-Related Web Design


OTL staff can architect and design a wide array of web-based content for courses and related programs using the latest in standard Web technologies.

Adobe at DU

The Office of Teaching and Learning will be hosting Adobe at the University of Denver to talk about Creative Cloud applications and digital publishing solutions. This event is now being held on May 14th (previously April 21st). The event will be split into two sessions:

The Adobe Creative Cloud
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
In this two-hour presentation, learn how Adobe has taken its creative tools to the next level with the Adobe Creative Cloud family of design applications. We will showcase some of your favorite Adobe programs and demonstrate exciting new workflows, features, and applications used to create mobile apps, videos, print, and websites. Also hear from Joseph Labrecque, from the University of Denver Office of Teaching and Learning, as he describes how OTL is using the Adobe Creative Cloud to create rich, interactive web content.

The Future of Digital Publishing
1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m.
In this presentation, you will learn how to take a static print publication and turn it into a rich interactive app that can be viewed on IOS, Android, and Windows Mobile devices. You will also learn how to use Adobe InDesign CC to add video and audio content, create touch interactions, and build interactive slide-content. We will also discuss how other academic institutions are using Adobe Digital Publishing Suite to create apps for their academic, athletics, alumni, and admissions programs.
