Issue: Students who change sections of a course after grades have been submitted in Canvas will need their grades migrated to their new section. For example, a student is enrolled in INTS-4001-1 and changes to INTS-4001-2.
Students who change sections of a course via the Registrar will be removed from their previous section in Canvas on a daily basis and moved to their new section. This function happens behind the scenes due to the Banner-Canvas integration. If a student has already submitted work in the first Canvas course, those grades will not migrate.
Professors can add the student back into the previous section within Canvas using the student’s 87 number, view or download the grades, remove the student from the previous section, and then add the scores into the new course section’s gradebook manually.
