As the media owner you can add collaborators and change permissions at anytime. Collaborators can be added to individual media, <a href=\"https:\/\/otl.du.edu\/knowledgebase\/kaltura-mediaspace-creating-video-channels\/\">channels<\/a>, or categories that you own. When adding Collaborators to <strong>individual media <\/strong>you will be assigning <strong>permission levels<\/strong>. When adding Collaborators to your <strong>channels <\/strong>you will assign users a <strong>collaboration role<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"permissions-different-collaborators\">Permissions and Roles for different Collaborators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Owners and Collaborators with different permission levels or roles will be able to manage and edit media or channels differently. Permissions allow Collaborators to edit and use your content and videos. Channel roles allow Collaborator to access and manage a collection of videos in a channel. See the following charts to help you determine permission levels and roles to assign to your Collaborators for individual media or channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Permission Levels for different Collaborators<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can change ownership of your individual media and add collaborators if you need help editing, publishing, and managing your videos.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steps to transfer ownership of media and add collaborators: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Log in<\/strong> to <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.du.edu\/\">DU MediaSpace<\/a> and go to <strong>My Media<\/strong>. <\/li><li><strong>Select<\/strong> the <strong>media<\/strong> you wish to add collaborators to.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Actions<\/strong>, then click <strong>Edit<\/strong>. <\/li><li>Select the <strong>Collaboration<\/strong> tab.<\/li><li>Choose <strong>Change media owner<\/strong> or <strong>Add Collaborator<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>IF<\/strong> you choose <strong>Add Collaborator<\/strong> select the permission level to assign. <\/li><li>Select a Collaborator by class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"roles-and-permissions-for-channels\">Assigning Collaboration roles and permissions to your Channels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Assigning roles to your Channel Collaborators provides them different permission to manage the channel settings, how to organize content in the channel, and how the channel can be accessed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steps to assign users a Collaboration role for channels: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Log in<\/strong> to <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.du.edu\/\">DU MediaSpace<\/a> and go to <strong>My Media<\/strong>. <\/li><li><strong>Select<\/strong> the <strong>channel<\/strong> you wish to assign roles or permissions for.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Channel Actions<\/strong> and click <strong>Edit<\/strong>. <\/li><li>Select the <strong>Users<\/strong> tab.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Add User<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Choose the <strong>role<\/strong> you would like to assign and select a User\/Collaborator by <strong>searching<\/strong> for the user&#8217;s DU email address. <\/li><li>Click <strong>Add<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a groups are single manageable accounts that represent a collection of users. User groups allow multiple users to co-own media or channels.   User groups work best for large collections of media that numerous users need equal access to manage and edit. User groups also support you to retain large collections overtime and ensure your media remains accessible and usable. As collaborators come and go from DU and projects, they can easily be added or removed from the user groups.
