This provides Canvas instructors with a way to evaluate if students are watching and understanding the video content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Step-1-Create-Video-Quiz-Questions\">Step 1: Create Video Quiz Questions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to your Canvas <strong>My Media<\/strong> page and click on the video that you wish to add quiz questions to. For example, we recommend this statement:<\/li><li>In the <strong>Submission Type<\/strong> box, select <strong>External Tool<\/strong>.<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"533\" height=\"331\" class=\"alignnone size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/dyzz9obi78pm5.cloudfront.net\/app\/image\/id\/5d5b4b0eed121c870b6c12a3\/n\/canvas-external-tool.png\"><\/li><li>Click <strong>Find<\/strong>, a pop up will appear.<\/li><li>Select the <strong>Kaltura Video Quiz<\/strong> tool.<br><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/otl.du.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/Kaltura-select-video-quiz.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2441\" width=\"546\" height=\"545\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Select the quiz video from the pop-up window. You can use the search box to located your quiz video. Please note, only True\/False and Multiple Choice points are graded and sent to the gradebook. <span class=\"ui-icon ui-icon-extlink ui-icon-inline\" title=\"Links to an external site.\"><span class=\"screenreader-only\">Links to an external<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Step-3-Grading-and-Analytics\">Step 3: Grading and Analytics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have only &#8220;<strong>True or False<\/strong>&#8220;, or &#8220;<strong>Multiple Choice Questions<\/strong>&#8220;, Kaltura will equally divide the possible points to determine the final grade. For example, if you have 4 Kaltura quiz questions (1 point each) and your Canvas quiz assignment is worth 10 points, each answer is worth 2.5 Canvas points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kaltura open-ended and reflective questions <strong>are not<\/strong> graded so the instructor needs to go to the video quiz analytics page. Here are some instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Go to your Canvas course<\/li><li>Click <strong>My Media<\/strong><\/li><li>Find the video quiz object and click on the small graph icon &#8220;<strong>Analytics<\/strong>&#8220;. Why? <\/em><br>The most likely reason is that their web browser is using 3rd party ad-blockers. The solution is to turn off the ad-blockers. Have the student try a different browser or even an incognito tab and see if that produces different results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>I don&#8217;t see any video quiz on my Canvas page. Why?<\/em><br>The most likely reason is that their web browser is using 3rd party ad-blockers or other privacy blocking extensions. Some common privacy blocking tools are DuckDuckGo, Brave is a Chromium-based browser, and Firebox Enhanced Tracking Protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As the Canvas instructor, can I double check somewhere else to verify that the student completed the video quiz? <\/em><br>Yes, all Canvas Kaltura videos collect analytics. Go to Canvas <strong>My Media<\/strong> and click the icon that looks like a bar graph or click on <strong>Actions<\/strong> and select <strong>Analytics<\/strong>. Video quiz analytics will show each video quiz question and the users results.
