1. Open Quizzes<\/h2>\n

In Course Navigation, click the Quizzes<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n

2. Add Quiz<\/h2>\n

Click the Add Quiz<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

3. Create New Quiz<\/h2>\n

In the Choose a Quiz Engine screen, select the New Quizzes<\/strong> option [1].<\/p>\n

Then click the Submit<\/strong> button [3]. <\/p>\n

4. Edit Quiz Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In the Assignment Name<\/strong> field [1], enter the name of your quiz. To enter quiz details, enter the total points possible [2], select the assignment group [3], and choose how the grade is displayed to students [4].<\/p>\n

The points possible set on the assignment details page is the total points possible for the quiz.<\/p>\n

5. Assign Quiz<\/h2>\n

In the Assign To<\/strong> field [1], select who will be required to take the quiz. You can assign the quiz to individual students or sections.<\/p>\n

In the Due<\/strong> field [2], select the quiz due date.<\/p>\n

In the Available from <\/strong>and Until<\/strong> fields [3], select the availability dates for the quiz. The available from time is when the students can view the quiz. The available until time is when the quiz and feedback are no longer available to students. Warning, the available until time will stop a quiz attempt if the attempt is occurring when the available until time shuts down the quiz. Example, if the until time is set at 10:00am, and a student is still taking the quiz at that time, Canvas will auto-submit what they have and kick them out of the quiz. This can affect student accommodations. See the accommodations blog<\/a> with new quizzes for more information.<\/p>\n

6. Save Quiz<\/h2>\n

To save your quiz details, click the Save<\/strong> button [1]. To save and publish your quiz, click the Save & Publish <\/strong>button [2].<\/p>\n

Clicking the Save or Save & Publish button returns you to the page where you opened the quiz.<\/p>\n

7. Open Build Page<\/h2>\n

To open the New Quizzes build page and add questions and content to your quiz, click the Build<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

8. Build Quiz<\/h2>\n

In the Build page, you can edit the title and description of your quiz [1], view your item banks<\/a> [2], align the quiz to outcomes<\/a> [3], preview the quiz from the student view<\/a> [4], and navigate the quiz [5].<\/p>\n

You can use the Rich Content Editor<\/a> to format and add content to your quiz instructions.<\/p>\n

9. Add Content<\/h2>\n

To add content to your quiz, click the Add<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

To insert content from an item bank, click the Item Bank<\/strong> button [1]. To create a new question, click the button for the question type [2] or add stimulus content<\/a> [3]. <\/strong><\/p>\n
