Example Language 1. “Baseball Cap”<\/h3>\n

We want to make it easy to listen and be heard. One of our core principles both internally and in the development of <\/span>Baseball Cap<\/span><\/i> is inclusiveness, and we want to make it possible for everyone to get their voice heard with Baseball Cap<\/i><\/span>. Therefore, we design and build our platform to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust enough to be used by presenters all over the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are Baseball Cap’s <\/em> Accessibility efforts?<\/strong> <\/p>\n

The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)<\/span><\/a> is an industry standard template for recording how a product or service conforms to Section 508 of the United States Rehabilitation Act. Based on this template, we aim to start rolling out improvements to the application regarding accessibility wherever possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does Baseball Cap <\/em>have a VPAT or ACR?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Baseball Cap<\/i> written in HTML. UI elements can be accessed directly with assistive technology. A meaningful reading sequence can be programmatically determined. Elements are never only identified by their shape, size or location.<\/span><\/p>\n

Does Baseball Cap <\/em>enable you to tag images?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Partially supports images or other media uploaded by users (presenters and poll creators) can have informational text if the user chooses to add it. Baseball Cap<\/i><\/span> can be navigated sequentially and focusable components receive focus in a meaningful order.<\/span><\/p>\n

Can Baseball Cap <\/em>add captions to videos? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Example Language 2. “Mile High”<\/h3>

What are Mile High’s Accessibility efforts?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

As a global platform for creativity and self-expression, Mile High <\/i><\/span>is truly committed to being accessible to everyone. However, this is an area we have realized we need to approve upon. To work toward better accessibility, we are currently in the process of testing Mile High<\/i><\/span>\u00a0for WCAG 2.1 level AA compliance.<\/span><\/p>

The WCAG guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We\u2019ve chosen Level AA as the target for accessibility.<\/span><\/p>

Does Mile High support screen readers?<\/strong><\/p>

Yes, we are<\/span> basically<\/span><\/i> compatible with screen reader software (such as Apple VoiceOver).<\/span> Posts can be read out aloud. New posts can be created using a shortcut. We are working on defining better landmarks for easier content navigation.<\/span><\/p>

Does Mile High enable you to tag images?<\/strong><\/p>

Not at this time.\u00a0 We suggest that if using images, a description is provided in the text box.<\/span><\/p>

Can I add captions to videos?<\/strong><\/p>

Although you cannot add captioning, you could upload the script from a video recorded into Mile High<\/em>, as an attachment.<\/span><\/p>

Any recent improvements?<\/strong><\/p>

Some recent improvements that we have made:<\/span><\/p>

  • Made Mile High<\/em> homepage keyboard accessible.<\/span><\/li>
  • Fixed bugs in Mile High<\/em> pages so that the post content area and add post buttons are announced correctly in screen readers.<\/span><\/li>
  • Improved translations for non-English users.<\/span><\/li>
  • Improved landmarks for Mile High <\/em><\/span>screens for easy navigation with screen readers.<\/span><\/li>
  • Labeled links and buttons correctly so that screen readers can announce them properly.<\/span><\/li>
  • Extended keyboard navigation to the Mile High<\/em> dashboard.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

    What are we working on next?<\/strong><\/p>

    Our target is to fix the glaring problems that make Mile High<\/em><\/span>\u00a0inaccessible as soon as possible. Here are some items that are next on our list:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    • Better landmarks on Mile High<\/em> home screens<\/span><\/li>
    • Add keyboard navigation<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

      Can we provide a VPAT?<\/strong><\/p>

      Not yet. But we will provide it as soon as we are able.\u00a0<\/p>
