One of our core principles both internally and in the development of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Baseball Cap<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is inclusiveness, and we want to make it possible for everyone to get their voice heard with <i>Baseball Cap<\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Therefore, we design and build our platform to be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust enough to be used by presenters all over the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>What are&nbsp;<em>Baseball Cap&#8217;s&nbsp;<\/em> Accessibility efforts?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.itic.org\/policy\/accessibility\/vpat\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is an industry standard template for recording how a product or service conforms to Section 508 of the United States Rehabilitation Act. Based on this template, we aim to start rolling out improvements to the application regarding accessibility wherever possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have appointed a group responsible for accessibility matters. UI elements can be accessed directly with assistive technology. A meaningful reading sequence can be programmatically determined. However, this is an area we have realized we need to approve upon. To work toward better accessibility, we are currently in the process of testing <i>Mile High<\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0for WCAG 2.1 level AA compliance.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The WCAG guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We\u2019ve chosen Level AA as the target for accessibility.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Does Mile High support screen readers?<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yes, we are<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> basically<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> compatible with screen reader software (such as Apple VoiceOver).<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Posts can be read out aloud. New posts can be created using a shortcut. We are working on defining better landmarks for easier content navigation.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Does Mile High enable you to tag images?<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not at this time.\u00a0 We suggest that if using images, a description is provided in the text box.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Can I add captions to videos?<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although you cannot add captioning, you could upload the script from a video recorded into <em>Mile High<\/em>, as an attachment.<\/span><\/p><p><strong>Any recent improvements?<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some recent improvements that we have made:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Made <em>Mile High<\/em> homepage keyboard accessible.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fixed bugs in <em>Mile High<\/em> pages so that the post content area and add post buttons are announced correctly in screen readers.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improved translations for non-English users.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improved landmarks for <em>Mile High <\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">screens for easy navigation with screen readers.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Labeled links and buttons correctly so that screen readers can announce them properly.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Extended keyboard navigation to the <em>Mile High<\/em> dashboard.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>What are we working on next?<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our target is to fix the glaring problems that make <em>Mile High<\/em><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0inaccessible as soon as possible. Here are some items that are next on our list:\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Better landmarks on <em>Mile High<\/em> home screens<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add keyboard navigation<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Can we provide a VPAT?<\/strong><\/p><p>Not yet.
