Canvas <\/span>Discussion Summaries<\/span><\/a> uses a Generative AI model to provide instructors with summaries of key points, questions, and ideas in the discussion thread. This feature is only available for instructors and students will not be able to see the generated summary.   1. Open your Canvas course container\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  2. Select \u201cSettings\u201d from left-hand navigation menu<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  3. Select \u201cFeature Options\u201d from tab at the top<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  4.     Once you select \u201cSummarize,\u201d t<\/span>he Discussion Summary will populate below your instructions and above the individual student responses. In the summary box, <\/span>an initial<\/span> summary is generated, and you will be able to enter <\/span>additional<\/span> areas or topics that you want the summary to focus on. For example, the first image below <\/span>represents<\/span> a summary from an introduction discussion board in the Teaching and Learning Online (TLO) program for faculty. As you can see, the generated response gave a brief overview into the students\u2019 responses.
