*If you are using TurningPoint clickers for a class where the students must purchase their own device, please let the DU Bookstore know when you submit your textbook orders. The ISBN is 9781934931684.

Instructors will need two items to use TurningPoint in class: the RF Receiver, available from the Office of Teaching and Learning, and the  TurningPoint Cloud software. The software allows for three different polling functions:

PowerPoint Polling: Allows you to author and poll interactive slides in PowerPoint with a minimal learning curve. Ideal for all class sizes. Recommended for presenters and instructors who frequently use PowerPoint.

Anywhere Polling: Using a floating toolbar, this software allows you to poll outside of PowerPoint –extending your capabilities to poll in any application. Ideal for all class sizes. Recommended for presenters and instructors who do not frequently use PowerPoint.

Self-Paced Polling: Launch Assessments, evaluations and surveys that enable participants to work at different speeds.

In order to download the TurningPoint Cloud Software, you need to create an account. Please use your DU email when signing up. Instructors accounts are free to use.

Instructors, please view this short video overview of the account creation and download process.

Additional tutorial videos are hosted at the TurningPoint site which cover PowerPoint polling, Anywhere polling, and Self-Paced polling.

TurningPoint will also set up a one-to-one videoconference with any new instructor to help them use the software. Email training@turningtechnologies.com  with your preferred times and dates.

Connecting TurningPoint to Canvas Gradebook

If students will be purchasing their own clickers, professors should contact the Office of Teaching and Learning <otl@du.edu> 303-871-2084 to ask for their Canvas Course to be configured so that students can create/link their TurningPoint accounts to the Canvas Gradebook.

This Canvas Participant List Loading Instructions for TurningPoint  has screenshots on how you will need to connect the TurningPoint software back to the Gradebook when you wish to import grades.
