The Office of Teaching and Learning offers workshops throughout the year on topics related to teaching and learning.
What workshops are offered?
The OTL offers different types of workshops:
- How-to workshops about educational technologies such as Canvas, Adobe Connect web conferencing software and Clicker software.
- Workshops about issues and topics related to teaching and learning at DU such as How Learning Works or Teaching International Students.
- Targeted intensive workshops such as the Teaching Online Workshop, Teaching Hybrid Workshop, New Faculty Workshop, and Teaching@DU Faculty Workshop
- NEW! The Faculty Showcase Series is designed to share best practice in teaching among the DU faculty and by showcasing innovative and effective teaching methods and concrete examples here at DU, while also providing a forum for the presenters to gain feedback on challenging and/or new practices.
How will these workshops benefit me?
What past participants have learned…
“Hard to just name one thing; there were lots of good ideas. Many useful tips on presentation content and delivery, great info on info processing, importance of prior knowledge, etc.”
“I liked using Canvas…especially the notifications when something had changed in “class.” The speed grader was wonderful and cut the feedback/grading time substantially.”
“Specific suggestions for how students can translate concepts to skills mastery.”
